But I am. This is on the initial beta registration screen. I've logged out, logged back in, and the problem persists.

Hello,
What is the problem -- you are unable to unlock the beta? Or...?
Cheers

Every time I try to unlock the beta with my email address and password, it gives me a box that says I have to be logged in as administrator to unlock the beta, and I'm the ONLY administrator account on the machine. It's the main account in XP. Now, the beta won't let me in anymore and gives me a box that says "You have not unlocked this beta of ACDSee Pro 3. Please restart the application and follow the directions to unlock." And all it gives me is a Quit button.
We're not getting off to a good start here, and I'm one of the foremost proponents of this software. I've used it for years, and have fought with the bugs and crashes to this day. You guys have GOT to get these issues fixed.

Hello,
The backend of the beta unlock process is the same as our trial and I haven’t heard of this issue with the pro 2.5 trial or other similar reports with pro 3.0, if others are experiencing this issue with pro 3.0 please provide feedback.
The reason acdsee pro 3 no longer runs is you have used up the beta unlock grace period and it needs to be unlocked. I am not sure as to why you are experiencing this issue but will investigate.
Thanks
Mark

Please e-mail me directly with a solution at corbettphotography@gmail.com.
I don't understand why you have to have such a complex unlock sequence with this beta. Can't you simply make the software self-destruct after a period of time or something? Can't it just look at the existing installation of ACDSee Pro 2.5 and unlock based on that? Why does this have to be complicated?

I've run Registry Mechanic on my system. It corrected some registry issues but did not affect this problem.
I uninstalled/reinstalled the software, rebooted, and the problem persists. All I can do is reset the 2 day timeout but it will not unlock the beta because it says I'm not logged in as administrator.
I'm VERY disappointed with the bug history of every version of ACDSee Pro I've used. This issue I'm having now does not help either.

Hello,
We are suspecting that for some reason the permissions on the ACD Systems registry keys under HKLM are not setup correctly, therefore not an issue with ACD but a possible system setup problem.
Could consider checking registry permissions for the ACD Systems registry keys (remove or change administrator privileges) before trying to unlock the Beta. This can be done by opening RegEdit and right-clicking on the HKLM\Software\ACD Systems registry key and selecting ‘Permissions’.
Please note, we have only received one report regarding this matter. Have other users experienced this issue?
Regards,
Mark
