have you gone through the conversion step that transfers the existing database info into the images - if not then do that first.

I use usb sticks or network, but this should work for optical

1. Database->Embed DataBase Information in Files (to ensurs that any recent changes are in the images)

2. Move files to burn basket

3. Burn Optical disk

Put Optical into laptop

1. Import the images form the optical

2. I then run Catalogue Database. after that the Categories are there, but I have a feeling they get created in the Import so the Catalogue step may not be required - I do it for the performance boost.

I have ACDsee Pro 2.5 on my Laptop and Desktop PCs.

I have been trying to move photos from my Laptop to my PC (via a DVD) and want to keep the Categories intact. I have not been able to get this to work.

I have tried reading te help (but hate wading through detailed information), can anyone provide simple step-by-step instructions to assist with this issue.

Many Thanks
