I'll also try batch rotating all the images I want their modified-date altered, hoping it's a 100% lossless operation.

Thanks Marc, I'll try it. It's strange the option is available for rotate and not for embedding.

Oddly enough, it doesn't seem to update file modified. I say oddly, because most other operations do update file modified, which some users *don't* like (although I think they should, for exactly the sort of reasons you allude to).

Anyhow, if you are currently running the operation on selected files, as a workaround I'd just do something else to the selected files to "touch" them. If you're relying on the facility to automatically embed info on shutdown, I'd first go the the "embed pending" special item under Organize to identify the images that are about to get embedded (if your version supports that), and select and touch them. And I'd report this as a bug by submitting a support ticket (use Support link at top left of this page).

Hello everyone, I have a question for the great Photo Manager 2009.

When I add/edit categories etc. and embed them to the pictures, it seems like the the file's "date/time modified" status is not updated.

Is it possible to do this? I'd like to regularly backup my Pictures folder to an external HD using file synchronization tools (instead of doing full backups every time), and this would be very helpful.
