Hi Marc

Thanks for your suggestion, but I am afraid it wont work in my case. The situation is that I have to combine into one folder photos of an event taken with two cameras, one with just JPEGs and the other with JPEGs some of which (but by no means all) have WAV files associated with them. I have integrated in one folder photos taken by more than one camera many times before, but never with WAV files involved.

I don't know any automatic way, but I'd be inclined to try grouping by file type - so the JPEG's are together, then the WAV's - and then renaming each group separately. Should work if you've got the same number of each (ie, you don't have a JPEG that lacks a WAV).

Hi

I have a set of photos in which several JPEGs have .WAV sound files associated with them. Both were created in the camera, the .WAV a second or so after the .JPG. I need to change the order of the photos and renumber them without breaking the association between the pictures and the audio.

The best I have been able to come up with is:

1)Sort the files so the .WAVs are adjacent to the corresponding .JPGs,

2)Run batch rename, to give successive numbers to each .JPG and its associated .WAV file.

3)Renumber each .WAV file individually to be the same as its JPG.

I am sure there must be a better way. Is it possible to use batch renumber in such a way as to maintain the association between the image and its sound clip?

Thanks

David
