I was over the moon to learn that ACDSee finally saw the light and created a version for MAC.

Only this morning the program hangs when I try to start it. I already tried to delete and reinstall but that gave No Joy. Below are some screen captures of the problems the program reports. If R&D is interested in the apple fault report let them contact me. I saved it as a plain text file. It's rather lengthy so I won't clutter the forum too much with it.

Cheers, Nick

Several times now I found that ACDSee does not show pictures in a folder while they are available in finder.

Also I found that sometimes it is not possible to move pictures in ACDSee from one folder to another. But if I open the destination folder in Finder I can move the pictures from the source folder in ACDSee to the destignation folder in Finder.

Snow Leopard version working fine here. Just one thing I'm curious about.

Fairly frequently (a couple of times per day) I need to empty the database in order to populate new directories.

Example: I have a fairly deep directory structure on a 500GB LaCie USB drive. Goes maybe 4-5 levels down. If I surf through this enough I'll get the spinning icon beside the folder and then it'll hang there. I can still see directories already populated, though.

Every time an empty of the DB solves the issue. I get the same issue whether it's on my Mac mini's hard drive or Drobo connected via firewire.

Am no sure if this is a performance glitch or if I'm just asking the DB to be bigger than is optimal.

Either way - well on it's way to being a worthy successor to the PC version for me. Nicely done!

I recently had to redo my machine, reinstalled all my applications, and now ACDSee does not display the images correctly in view mode. The images are very pixelated. It appears that it is displaying the thumbnail, stretched. That is my guess anyways.

Sometimes no image at all shows up in the main display window when in 'view' mode. When I drag the slider bar at the bottom right of the View window, to scale the image, it will display as long as I have clicked on the slider and continue to hold down the mouse button. All of the thumbnails do display properly both in Manage and View modes.

Before re-installing ACDSee, the program had been working wonderfully. It made me wonder if I had any residual settings that were causing issues. I removed ACDSee using AppZapper, and installed it again. Same problems. I tried emptying the database as well to no avail. Hope there is a solution. I was huge fan on this program on the PC and am excited to have it on my Mac!

Thanks for your help!

I have a external HD that I save all my photos and today I made some tests trying to move some photos from a file to another using my IMac and checked some photos that I moved before using my PC. At the first try no photos were moved and I couldn't see any file in the folder that I filled using my PC. After 3 times open / closed ACDSee pro Beta it start to show me some file in those folders. I saw each time we click on some folder ACDSee show us the qty of files and on that test no file was showed.

Sometimes when I boot back in MacOS from bootcamp, I get the internal clock advancing of 2hours.

Say in windows the clock says "21:40", then when I boot back in MacOS, it says "23:40"... and after a couple of minutes, it synchronizes with the Apple Europe time and then displays the correct "21:40" time. it usually isn't an issue but I downloaded and installed ACDsee beta for mac when it displayed the wrong time and now it refuses to launch because ACDsee thinks I cheated with the time (it calls that "clock rollback"). Is it a way to get rid of that? (apart from modifying manually the internal clock to +2hours? if I do that ACDsee accept to launch but it's disturbing for all the other softs)...

I just noticed recently - after I resize photos in ACDSee Beta by Percentage (for example 60%) the resized picture looks great on the first glance. But if you look at it closely, it is slightly blurred, or non-sharp - I don't exactly know how to describe it.

I tried this on various pics from 2 different cameras: one with 7.1 MP and one with 6 MP and I noticed it on both.

Any idea how to fix this?

Now I have the new acdsee beta version and some of the problems are solved, great! I hope my external drive will also work well, but I can't check it right now.

Maybe it is just because I don't know how, but I can't zoom in with the full screen mode on. It works with command + when he isn't in full screen mode. How can I zoom with the full screen mode on or will it be in the next beta version?

Well, I was wondering if I am the only one with this problems, but today I had the time to work with the new Beta and had following problems:

1.) When I open my pictures (in case, my jpg`s) and try to view them, all pictures are totally viewed in pixels! I mean they are not sharp, even if I resize them, the pictures are still getting more pixelized!?! This was not happen, when I used the first Beta!

2.) Also, when I try to view my x3f-FIles (from my Sigma SD10), they are not more available to see!!!! This I could do before (I don
t know how, I don
t know why and I don`t care!) But this was for me a criteria to use your program, and also in the future!

In this case, your competitor from Adobe (PSE) is there a little bit better!!! Especially for older cameras!

PNG files are displayed very well, the best I've seen in like programs. I am not seeing metadata keywords though. If I set a keyword and run an annotation synch, I do not see the keyword when I look at the metadata of the file. The instructions say to set the keyword in the annotations, keyword is not in the annotations, it is next to it, but not in it. I'm wanting to set a lot of keywords on PNG files and then search on them; I want the file to include the keyword in IPTC standard, not categorize the file.
