Hi there. I don't know what is happening here. I'd like you to try re-installing this again, but follow these steps first:

1. From Finder's Go menu, choose Go to Folder

2. type in ~/Library/

3. Delete the ACD Systems subfolder from the Application Support folder

4. Delete com.ACDSystems.ACDSeeProBeta.plist from the Preferences folder

After that, delete the program and download it again and re-install.

Let me know if that helps. Thanks.

Note: ACDSee Pro for Mac beta should work on OS X 10.5.8 and 10.6.1

I am a new Mac user, I've had a PC for years, and have used ACDSee since they first came out. I'm having trouble seeing anything on this Mac Beta. At first, no pictures would show up, not even those on my desktop. Folders of pictures would not come up on my external drives. The only way I could see a picture was to right click-> open with ACDSee. Now when I do that, I don't even see ACDSee as a choice, even though it is still running on my dock. Very frustrating, I love the old ACDSee before it had all the editing/organizing features, I just want an easy to use image viewing program for my Mac. By the way, I don't have Snow Leopard, just Leopard.

I was over the moon to learn that ACDSee finally saw the light and created a version for MAC.

Only this morning the program hangs when I try to start it. I already tried to delete and reinstall but that gave No Joy. Below are some screen captures of the problems the program reports. If R&D is interested in the apple fault report let them contact me. I saved it as a plain text file. It's rather lengthy so I won't clutter the forum too much with it.

Cheers, Nick

Snow Leopard version working fine here. Just one thing I'm curious about.

Fairly frequently (a couple of times per day) I need to empty the database in order to populate new directories.

Example: I have a fairly deep directory structure on a 500GB LaCie USB drive. Goes maybe 4-5 levels down. If I surf through this enough I'll get the spinning icon beside the folder and then it'll hang there. I can still see directories already populated, though.

Every time an empty of the DB solves the issue. I get the same issue whether it's on my Mac mini's hard drive or Drobo connected via firewire.

Am no sure if this is a performance glitch or if I'm just asking the DB to be bigger than is optimal.

Either way - well on it's way to being a worthy successor to the PC version for me. Nicely done!

I spoke too soon. Now, when I click on the ACDSee Pro Beta in the applications folder all that comes up are the two opening screens that link to the Beta website. The application itself will NOT come up.

I've removed the app from the Applications folder and even downloaded a FRESH copy of the latest beta but still have the same results. The "Camera" icon shows on the desk but nothing else happens except as stated above.

That didn't last long then. Tried to use it today and I got the same issue as mentioned above. It attempts to run, but no browser actually shows up. I tried a complete uninstall and re-install (not just delete app). Didnot remove the dmg file, but again nothing now.

I agree. It installed properly, easily, and without any problems on my Mac Pro.

It works "as advertised" but still needs more features. Regardless, it seems to have a lot of promise and am looking forward to a full featured, editing capable, release.

Thanks for finally releasing the new update. Works perfect on my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard installed. Not sure why others are having problems. I have opened and closed it many times. Dumped the install package into the trash bin. Placed the Icon in my tool bar, etc. Rebooted the system trying to make it have a problem. Seems to me that the problems are most likely in the install by the user, or possibly corrupt files from the old version? Now we will just wait patiently for all the features that you have put into Pro3 for the PC.

It is great there is a new version of acdsee but it doesn't work. First time i installed it he openend ACDsee and it works. I deleted the dmg file because it was in my programs folder. I tried to open it again. It opens but without a browser. I only see the first screen with we recommand... and when I close it there is nothing... If I choose the option open browser, there also isn't happening anything. I installed it again for 4 times and everytime even if I keep de dmg file I had that problem... So i have seen de ACDsee browers once and after that time never again...
