Thanks for your reply! I'm not SO stupid after all ... ;-)

However it seems to be a step back comparing the recent forum functions with the one before. I asked because I'm living where there is no fast internet and therefore the forum reading goes very slow. It's quite frustrating.

But now I know thats just the way it is for now.

Hey Roger, I don't think anyone replied to you because you aren't missing something. There is no button to go to next unread message. To read this forum, I recommend reading a thread, then hitting the back button to take you back to the forum list or main forum (where the recent threads list is.) You still have to end up scrolling a lot.

In earlier forum layout it was possible to automatically find the next unread topic in a selected forum category just by clicking a button. Now it seems as if I have to scroll the hole list to find the next new one in the category I am interested in (e.g. "All unread content since last visit" or "New Topics since last visit").

Why isn't it possible to choose a view in a specific category as under "AcdSee Product Forums"?

And after reading a thread there is no button, as in the earlier version to jump to the next unread message.

Am I missing something?

Info you enter into ACDSee's "Database" fields is visible only to ACDSee, since other programs can't read ACDSee's database. If you want other programs to be able to see the info, you need to write that info into the standard IPTC fields within the files themselves. You can do that by using the IPTC pane of the Properties window. Or, if you are using a Pro version, you can run Batch Set Information to copy info from the database fields to the IPTC fields, which is a lot more convenient as you can work with multiple files at once.

BTW, this is a pretty specific question, and should have been posted to the forum for the product you re using, not to this general forum for discussion of the forums themselves.

Hi,

My question is, how do i get the properties from ACDSee to stay with the photo when I open it in another program. All the information added in ACDSee disappears when I open it any other photo program.

Hi,

The tech has looked at the search functionality and it's supposed to be working properly but you're right, it doesn't return anything useful. I'll get him to look at it again and hopefully we'll figure it out.

-Melanie

It's certainly not working correctly. I've just done a search for 'RAW' within the 'beta 3 features forum' and it returned 3 pages of results. When I clicked to view page 2 it refreshed and came up with 84 pages of results, I then noticed it had reverted to searching all the forums. I repeated this a couple of times with same results.

I tried a search for "Windows 7" within the Pro 3 Features forum:

[attachment=0]

As the clip shows, the search text "Windows 7" is not to be seen in the two-line quote from the results. It would be nice if the two-liner chosen did in fact show the search text to be present.

Well, opening the second search result, it shows the individual post, from which the quote is taken. Only the full post doesn't contain the search text either. So why am I being directed to it?

The second search result comprises 33 posts. Must I peruse all of them to see where the search text is mentioned? That's what I'd expect the underlying software to do for me.

Finally what is the sort order applied to search results, assuming there is one?

I expect this is one for Melanie. May I take the opportunity to thank you for contributions to the ACD forums.
