Hi to everybody.

I've a very big problem with database maintenance.

I've changed my hard disk, I've copied all my images (more on 30.000) in the new hard disk, into the same position, but now the database says me to not find my images, because they are on another volume.

How can I fix it?

Thanks for help

Sounds like you are talking about Pan Lock. Scroll where you want, hit L to enable Pan Lock, and all subsequent pictures will come up scrolled to that same position.

Changing bit depth can be done, although I don't know that ACDSee lets you do this - it might, in one of the save option dialogs somewhere. but that wouldn't be much of a solution; you'd lose most of your color info. 24 bit images 8 bits per channel) are the norm, and should work fine.

Can you post one of the images that gives problems?

Planning a PC migration to Windows7 within the next 12-14 months I asked when there will be a Photomanager version designed for W7.

The answer was diplomatic as expected but not about "when" but about "if" thee will be a new release.

So it looks that 2009 (V11) will be the last Photomanager by ACDSee...

Can anyone confirm similar rumours or answers from ACSDee support?

Hello, Melanie...

There is one compatability issue that EVERYONE with Win7 or Vista 64bit and an HP AIOs will suffer... Although Windows programs can scan from them, PhotoManager 2009 cannot, and will lockup... Only way to get out of the lockup is to open Task Manager.

This has become very frustrating... been with ACDSEE since the early bulletin board days, and have thousands of pictures, etc. I really don't like the idea of having to start over... but, if we cannot solve this problem, I guess I will have to

Does this happen for all files or just some? To all images except for one. The only difference is that in the one with a pop up the Bit depth is 4 in stead of 24. Can Bit depth be change and how.

I've had versions of ACDSee for years. One of the things I'd used a lot is the external file slideshow capability. With the older versions you could generate an file that listed your pictures, save the file with an .ais extension, then play it via ACDSee's slideshow. As an 'improvement' under 2009, the feature was dropped. I miss it badly. I'd used other applications to create the lists of pictures, then used ACDSee to run the slideshow. Now, I can't. I can just use the old version, but I'd love to be able to use the new version's transition effects.

Has anyone found a way around this? Any thought to bring the feature back?

Hi all,

I installed ACDSee Photo Manager 2009 on our new PC and it works fine, BUT, when my wife logs in as a different user, she can only use the quick viewer. Whenever she tries the browser, she gets this error message ("ACDsee has stopped working").

Another odd thing is that all JPG photo icons get a little square gray mark with a slanted white line on their left bottom corner.

All solutions offered in item 99 of the "Knowledge Base" were of no help.

Can anyone advise?

I don't think that camera is supported (yet), but you might try converting the files to DNG using the free Adobe DNG converter. DNG is also RAW, and ACDSee often supports DNG from camera that it doesn't support the native RAW format for.
